I'm trying to preform an update from 7.5.00.8 to 7.5.00.14 (I saw the post yesterday about something wrong with 7.5.00.14, but the MD5 hash has changed compared to yesterday, so I suppose the problems are corrected) My current configuration contains two database instances for one server software installation. When running SDBUPD I get to choose which instance I want to upgrade. The choices are 0: db1 1: db2 2: none Choosing 1 instance at the time aborts with "there are more than one instance based on installation". What is the syntax for selecting them both? I tried 0 1 and 0,1 and 0;1
I found one hit on google about this (http://www.ecediinc.com/la/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/2209.html) stating it is not recommended to run more than one instance in the same server software directory. Is that still valid for current versions op maxdb? And besides for upgrading, are there any other fundamental reasons to avoid multiple instances in one server software directory? Back to the initial question; is there a simple solution? or should I proceed with what is described in the mail stated above?
