Why this persistem problem does not have a simple solution....
Four months ago i try to install MaxDB 7.5.1-alpha2 on RedHat and the system say that can't start database because kernel error. Then i have to install on SuSE 9 prof... and the database works very good, and now when i try to test the database on SuSE 9.1 prof. the problem with the kernel continue.
My machine is a Dual Dell PowerEdge PIII and i have been treating with the option LD_ASSUME_KERNEL but this don't work for me.
Well, i have a SuSE 9.1 machine too, and starting a newly created database is no problem, although i have problems with restoring a database (see my thread called "ERROR 'illegal_filename' CAUSED EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN")
Beside that, you will definitly have a problem with the NPTL, so be sure that you do "export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5" in all your scripts that call SAPDB/MaxDB-programs!
