I wrote the following mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] but the only answer I
receive was
something about DNS-configuration.
I've tried all DNS-settings but without any performance advancement.
- Can anybody give me some hints how to minimize the connection time ?
- What are resonable values in such a situation?
I think that noone will use a database where connect delays so long !
- I've tried to connect a mssql-server on the same host (connection time
is about 2 sec)

I want to connect a remote maxdb-database over a 2mbit wire.
question : is it a normal situation that a connect over that type of line
takes between 40 and 50 sec ?
I feel a bit unhappy about this situation, because my app-users have to
wait a very long time before they can
do some real business stuff
How can I minimize the connection time (other ways than installing the db
locally) ?
