Hello Timo,

backups and restores of data backups (complete or incremental) and the backup of log 
itself copy only a lot of pages between the backup medium and the database. Therefore 
their speed is normally limited only by the speed of your storage systems (either 
database volumes or backup media). During a log recovery the actual database 
operations are repeated, therefore recovery of a log backups can be much slower. 
However it should not take much more time to recover a log backup then to create the 
same log amount in the first place within the database (before the log backup).
