Yes,

Using the DBMGUI 1st edition do a migration backup. Then on the 7.4 machine
create a new instance for restore using DBGUI second edition or later and
specify the migration backup when prompted.

Subject: Importing backup made on SapDB 7.3 into SapDB 7.4

Hi all.

i have a particular question for you guys:
i have the following environment:
SapDB 7.3.0 build 46 running on a linux box with SuSE SLES 7,
and another box Itanium2 IA64 on SuSE SLES 8, with SapDB 7.4.0
build 33 for itanium2 processors.

i need to import the DB from 7.3 in 7.4 without upgrading the 7.3
release, because it's used by SAP R/3 application.
unfortunately there is no 7.3 version for Itanium processors, so i'm
stuck.
i tried the migration, but it cannot import the data in the new DB...

how can i import 7.3 databases into the 7.4 instance?

is there a migration tool or interface that accomplish these steps?

thank you all!!!

bye, Andrea.
