Hi all,

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm running SAP DB 7.4 on RedHat Linux 8.0. Everything has been fine for
over a year until the last few days when the server slowed dramatically in
creating a connection. Even using SQL Studio the server is very slow to
create a connection. I've checked the system and it seems fine, plenty of
HD space left and memory is not peaking (used df and free to check system
resources). Also the CPU cycles seemed normal ( used top ).

Auto Log is on and I backed up the database earlier and no change.

Does anyone have a suggestion on where to look? Does SAP DB 7.4 need to be
"defragged"? Is there an error log to check?

Thanks again,

Lon Palmer
