Thank you very much for your support. But last question.. How stable is "MySQL-Proxy" ? Have you tested it before? do you know anything about common problems with MySQL Proxy? Is it safe and secure to use it in a business sollution? Since how long is this Opensource Project existing?

Hi,
It depends how much effort you are willing to invest. Anything that works with ODBC can be made to work with MaxDB. Unfortunately, there seems to be no standardized over-the-wire protocol for databases like there is for email and other protocols. There is also MySQL-Proxy, which will let you set up the applications to use MySQL and then redirect them to a MaxDB database. Check it out on the website.

cc: Subject: Do opensource packages run with maxdb like mysql?
Hi! I have a question. Is it possible to run maxdb in relation with other projects like it is possible with the mysql database? I like to run projects (packages) like:
phprojekt http://www.phprojekt
Jabber Deamon http://jabberd.jabberstudio.org/
Cyrus Mail Server http://asg.web.cmu.edu/cyrus/
If anybody can tell me that it is possible to run these *nix (Linux) services on this database like it would with the mysql, then I would thank you.
With best regards
