I don't know about that but I did run MaxDB on a dual P-II-266 with 384MB RAM. Processor power was not that problem, all Tools (websql/webdm) etc. could be used with o.k. response times. I assume that also a single P-II 233 would be an option. We have also an instance of the predecessor of MaxDB (ADABAS-D 10.0) on a P-200 with 64MB RAM running since years and I think that MaxDB would also do it on this system. So it seems MaxDB scales pretty well. But what you should keep in mind is how big your database will be. If the database size is small and the queries are simple and the database connects are low, a small system will do it but don't expect to run a full scale database with terabytes of data, complex queries and 5000 users on a P-200 with 64MB RAM. So the real question should be: what are the minimum hardware requirements for my database.
