when the moment came to go in production, I have decided to upgrade the server to MAXdb 7.5 (upgrade goes well for the database) , unfortunately it seems that the python interface is working very bad with Unicode returning in some versions versions of maxdb binary data and under the latest 0.18 crash completely. under ODBC all seems to work properly , have make tests with different version of python extensions but it reacts the same way.
is MAXdb will continue to support python extensions other wise will be obliged to move to an other data base.
Our client are a serious company in the maritime biz.
One of the reason they accepted sapdb it is because they have other contract in development with SAP.
Unfortunately we are in the latest stage of development, and have from the beginning choose sapdb, now we are in impasse.
