Assuming you're using an NTFS volume, you can compress and decompress
individual files and folders:
- locate the folder in Windows Explorer
- right click=>Properties=>Attributes: Compressed (Attributes: Advanced
on XP)
- be sure to check the box when asked if this should apply also to
subdirectories
- there is also on Option for Windows Explorer to show compressed files
and folders in a different color

The folder would be the rundirectory of the kernel
(http://sapdb.2scale.net/moin.cgi/RunDirectory)
