Hi,
I am running sapdb db 7.3.46. (LOG MODE SINGLE DEMO / DATACACHE 32000
(256 MB) )
Every 10 minutes the kernel.exe does a large amount of i/o writes for a
few seconds.(Monitored from windows performance monitor)
At this time query execution time increases. This seems to be related to
savepoints (Specifically the db parameter RESTART_TIME=600).
Is this avoidable??
Regards,
Ajit
P.S: I have a second database under similar load / of same size. Log
Mode of this DB is DUAL DEMO/ DATACACHE is 10000 (80 MB)
This too shows a surge in i/o writes every 10 minutes. However the
amount of data written seems to be half of what is written by the other
DB. Does Data cache size or Log mode have any bearing on the amount of
data written at a savepoint??
