Hi,
the update with SDBUPD to 7.5.00.23 isn't finished yet(maybe it's crashed?).
there are persistant data of this update. you can check it with
/opt/sdb/programs/bin/sdbregview --instancedata
you have to finish it first with 7.5.00.23 installation kit.
a successful SDBUPD run will delete this update informations.

another way deleting it is to perform a pure software update of "Database
Kernel"
with SDBINST. but do not forget to load the system tables in this case!

Betreff: SDBUPD fails due to wrong version-number

Hi,

while trying to run SDBUPD for updating a 7.5.00.23 to .24, update aborts with

can finish instance update only with package Database Kernel 7.5.00.23

The Instance to be updated is running on Version 7.5.00.23, but in the dialog which lets you select the instance to be updated, Kernel Version is written as 7.5.0.23 :

beginning to check sap db instances
existing instance:
0: DBA1REST "/usr/sapdb/depend" 7.5.0.23
1: none

Where can i correct this weird glitch and how could this happen? :-)

Thanks for your help,

Flo
