The MaxDB Log is used as one logical volume even if several physical log volumes are used. The logical log volume is written in a cyclic way. The log segement size describes a logical amount of pages which are not used for log backup or a simple restart. Everytime the amount of unused pages reaches the logical segment size the auto log backup task is started. The goal was to backup log as early as possible to avoid log full situations. So this concept cannot be compared directly with oracles log segment files. Kind regards Uwe
