Hi,

from release 7.4 on you do not need logbackups for the restart.
If any open transactions are enclosed in a databackup, then
the corresponding undo-information is also contained in this
databackup. If you restart then the open transactions will
be rollbacked and thus leave the database in a consistent state.
Nevertheless you loose all changes which has been made after
the backup. These changes are only contained in the log!!!

Setting the logmaode to autooverwrite should solve your problem
too, because instead of formatting the logvolume it is just
overwritten. The only disadvantage is the fact that you never
know when the corrupt page has been overwritten.

Kind Regards, Martin

Log_SaveIterator::CheckPageBuffer pagebuffer is not inconsistent failed!

Hello Martin,

thanks alot for this advice. I restored some backups on the 11th after
having messed sth. up (Full,
inc, inc, log). Hardware is ok, no crash or sth., harddisks are okay
too.
I've just set Logmode to autooverwrite for having the db back online.
i'll give it a try with clearing the logs. just one question :
if something goes badly wrong, i still can recover any full databackup
after having the log cleared?
