Can't any more as we decided to throw away the installation. We needed the machine and it was just a test installation. :-} However, the scripts that are used to start the db use another user and they work generally. So I'd say it's unlikely that the db was started as from root. Unfortunately I could not find out how the db got into this state. This left me in a kind of uncomfortable state... Does this explain the strange mixture of reported db states? I mean, even if the db wasn't started at all, all commands should report the same state, don't they? Or is this a misunderstanding on my side?
