Hi, sometimes you guys are really quick ... ;o)
Well, the MaxDB WebDAV Servlet is a Java based reimplementation of the well known MaxDB WAHTTP based WebDAV shipped with MaxDB 7.5 as part of the WebTools package. The Servlet will replace the WAHTTP WebDAV service beginning from MaxDB 7.6. But there is no established shipping date right now. All I can say is that it will be shipped as soon as possible. Being a successor the Servlet as well as the WAHTTP version utilizes a MaxDB database instance to store documents. The implementation is similar, though the used table schema differs from the one used for WAHTTP WebDAV. But there will be a migration for the data that would take place while upgrading a MaxDB 7.5 to MaxDB 7.6. The MaxDB WebDAV Servlet is not at all based on Apache Slide. You need a MaxDB database instance of at least version 7.6 and a Servlet container or J2EE server like Tomcat, SAP NetWeaver, JBoss etc. The Servlet is a RFC2518 DAV level 2 compliant WebDAV server. So any documentation concerning the usage of a WebDAV server should be retrieved from www.webdav.org or www.w3c.org. We will not provide any documentation dealing with the usage. There will be documentation available that deals with the setup of a WebDAV server though. Considering the fact that deploying a Servlet differs substantially between J2EE servers or Servlet containers the setup documentation will point to the documentation of the J2EE server or Servlet container that will be used. Along with MaxDB WebDAV Servlet there will be some config files for Tomcat, SAP NetWeaver and JBoss. None of them will be "ready-to-go" for at least the data source (that is the MaxDB database instance used to store the documents) has to be configured by the administrator. A Readme will explain the meaning and usage of the shipped files. Hope this will answer your questions. Cheers, Daniel -----Original Message----- From: Eckenfels. Is there any further documentation available? Where do I find that servlet, how does it works, what does it needs? Is it different from Slide?
