That's something that i'd like to know too. There was a project called DBMJUI (a Java version of DBMGUI), but the development was stopped too. (was an opensource-project developed by one person only, AFAIK) The JDBC-Driver contains many of the functions needed for writing such a DBMGUI in Java, but unfortunatly SAP seems to continue developing the Windows-Versions of SQLStudio and DBMGUI.
