Hello Daniel, I noticed the -24875 error is fairly generic. It not only happens when the user is not part of the group, but also if the server fails in some unexpected way to verify it. This can include:
- Pwdverify is not able to read shadow file - pam module cannot be loaded - permissions for some of the internal bianries (starter) or home directory is wrong All of the above is only visible in the logfiles. Since the check for group memebership is the first access to authorization subsystem of the host the failure can be quite missleading. (But of course it might also be possible that the problem is exactly the one the message describes, however uwe told me i his case it is a pam problem, he thinks) Gruss Bernd -----Original Message----- From: Schmoger, Daniel [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, November 21, 2005 9:41 AM To: Uwe Degel; maxdb@lists.mysql.com Subject: RE: Create Database Instance: Error -24875 The Operating ... on SuSE 10.0 Hello Uwe, to create a database your operating system user has to be in administators group (sdba).
