Hi everybody,
we planned a long time and now the time was right to do a complete System
upgrade.
Wie changed our OS from SuSE 8.2 to Debian Sarge 3.1.
Performing this step we wanted tu update our Database Server Version from
SAP DB 7.4 to MaxDB 7.6.
The installation was going alright, even the server started without moaning
but when we tried creating an instance through DBM Gui we just get the
error: "-24994 The User is not in the group of database adminitrators". Ehm,
but it is! i checked this in the sdb config files. The owner group ist sdba,
the owner itself is sdb with group sdba.
Everytime I try to create that instance ut gives the above error message.
Afterwards we tried to creat the instance by hand suing dbmcli. We could
create the database itself, but when inserting the parameters and starting
the DB into admin mode we get the following error:
"Cannot initialize multithreading: Linux installation problem" (knldiag).
What does this mean?
Afterwards we uninstalled MaxDB 7.6 and installed maxdb 7.5.
Here we did not have any problem creating the instance, but when wie started
the instance in onlinemdoe we permanently get the errors "-24988 sql errir
[db_execute SELECT ID,CREATEDATE,UEDSIZE FROM SYSINFO.SNAPSHOTS];
-4004,Unknown table name:SNAPSHOTS
Urm, again I have absolute no idea what is going wrong.
Could please someone help me solving this enormous problem?
