Maybe the internal firewall suppresses the communication. - Are the DB and SQLStudio on the same box? Then let the entry "server" empty in the logon dialog. In this case, the communication should be done with shared memory. - If the communication is over TCP/IP then make sure, that the port 7210 is not blocked.
