i've run in exact the same problem. It seems to be a problem with the
local password encryption. I've solved it this way:
- In /etc/opt/sdb add the following line:
PAM=NOT_USED
- In /etc/default/passwd search for a line starting with:
CRYPT_FILES=
and change it to CRYPT_FILES=md5
- Save the file and immediatly change the password for your sdb-user
- Edit /etc/default/passwd back to the old setting
- Restart the x_server
Now you should be able to create new instances
