Hello Aidroos, the remote tape protocol is not supported directly by MaxDB. But as Robert pointed out earlier today, it is possible to use external backup tools with MaxDB and those backup tools do support backups onto remote tapes. An overview of backup tools supported by MaxDB can be found at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/43/e0f23ab6b4317de10000000a11402f/fram eset.htm .

This is a three system SAP landscape with Dev, Quality & Production running on their own Linux boxes. One of the Linux system will have a LTO Tape Drive. My query is, how does one perform MaxDB backup on a remote tape drive? SAP provides brbackup (initSID.sap) parameters remote_user, remote_host for Oracle, but I do not see such option for MaxDB. Any help, greatly appreciated. Best Regards, aidroos -- MaxDB Discussion Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/maxdb To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
