Hello Joerg, so far so good.
- set database to state admin - execute db_restartinfo in dbmcli and take a look at the Value of "Used LOG Page" At least you need a log backup which contains this log pageNo/Sequence. If you have no log backup which fits into this number range you will not be able to recover your database to the point of failure - set database state to offline - define a medium for your log backups and check with medium_labeloffline for the first log backup you need ->"First LOG Page/Fast LOG Page" - use DBMGUI in particular RecoveryWizard to start log recovery Kind Regards, Torsten -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Gesendet: Freitag, 3. I mean to restore so: - start the database in admin mode - initialize the database whith dummy Backup ( stop with errors; never mind ) - set the database offline - move my copie about initialized datafile But what is the next step? Mit freundlichen Grüßen - Best regards Jörg Wenzel -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: Henrik Hempelmann [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Gesendet: Freitag, 3. Unfortunately there is no direct way to recreate an empty log and restart to the last successful savepoint. But you can recover the database from a backup, so you have to create a backup from your datafile: - start the database in admin mode - make a 'full' backup of your database - initialize the database using the backup -> db_activate restore aka "Recovery with Initialization" Henrik -- MaxDB Discussion Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/maxdb To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MaxDB Discussion Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/maxdb To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MaxDB Discussion Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/maxdb To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
