Hello,
I have a problem with my database instance.
PC: AMD Sempron, 2GB RAM, SATA Hdd
OS: Linux Suse 9 Enterprice server
DB: MaxDB 7.6.00.16
Clients: WinXp via ODBC
DB instance takes 1,5 - 2 GB from my 4GB data volume.
There is a lot of storred procedures and triggers which
inserts or updates other tables.
When it is running, it is runing fast with good response,
but sometimes some tables freezes, so when I make query
on them I get no answer (even when I wait 1-2 hours).
But interesting is that when the database is in this state
I can make queries to some tables in my DB (no whole database freezes).
It seems that some tables are locked and there is no other way
to unlock only DB restart.
Is there someone who can help me ??
Thanks for any ideas.
Is there some possibility to monitor DB engine running,
table locking, unlocking in MaxDb?
When I look to DbManagerGUI there is a lot of different options to trace,
so I'm confused what to trace. Or should I switch on all?
The important think is, that before we have migrated from SapDb v7.4.6.32
on WinXp,
no such freezing occured.
