Building as root solves this problem, but then presents a new one.

vls14_scan.l fast
vls14_scan.cpp:65: error: 'flex_int32_t' is used as a type, but is not d\
efined as a type.
vls14_scan.cpp:66: error: 'flex_int32_t' is used as a type, but is not \
defined as a type.

It seems that DanielD addressed this issue a few years ago, but I'm
not quite able to find a resolution... Anyone see something I'm not?

http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.db.sapdb.sources/210

He suggested that one should edit vls14_scan.l and add the following:

- ---

#include "hls14_scan.h"

- ---

Hmmm... I just caught that he also recommended using an older version
of flex... I apt-get remove'd the one I had installed, installed
2.5.4a, re-ran installtools.pl and installsources.pl, re-sourced
initDev_MaxDB. That didn't quite work, so I rm -rf'd DevTool and
re-unpacked it.

Nice.

# CFLAGS=-I/usr/include/python imf.pl all > build.log & less build.log

12-05-06 18:44:33 end of all.mac fast

*whew*

That wasn't so bad....
