Once upon a time, i used dmbcli to start my database instances. But x_start allows to start them, without knowledge of usernames and passwords. It seems to me, that x_start is the preferred way for init.d-scripts to start instances. Is it possible, that x_start also does this "param_checkall"? If yes, then see this as a an RFE.
