Emergency standyb solution for SAPDDB 7.3 wanted

We run SAPDB 7.3 on Linux and want to build some kind of hot standby 
solution. As this feature is only available in later editions of 
SAPD/MAXDB I wanted to know if somebody has an idea how something that 
comes next to a hot standby can be archieved. E.g. if we do a 
differntial  backup every hour and send that to the remote data base to 
keep it updated. Any suggestions welcome.
