You are true. There are things I still can't understand like the speed difference between a query into a stored proc and a classical prepared query (I know why there is a difference but not why such a difference). My idea wasn't to tell "MaxDB is perfect, ya developpers are not !" but to explain how a "modern" compiler could improve performance in areas where I didn't know it could (if I don't I think some people might won't too). I've been rushed by my enthusiasm :-)

No.  Your compiler was *so* slow that it overshadowed any other slow
performing component.

- I don't want to advertize borland or MaxDB but as I use to read posts
in which people claim having speed problems I hope that one can give
them ideas. Whatever their programming language is.


There are quite a few performance problems with MaxDB that are not
related to the programming language used.
