That's what pointed me to the Windows event log.  I deleted all the
entries but must of missed stopping and starting the Max DB.  That
solved the problem.

I assume you run MaxDB on Windows? If you do, just open your Windows
Event Viewer from Administrative Tools. Right-click on "Application" and
then "Clear all Events". That should do it.

The database kernel makes an entry in the Windows Event Log each time it
is started and each time it is stopped.
