We did restore the backup and recovered till 10/24/2006 8:53:19 PM. It was Database Restore with Initialization. As an added measure, the log file was manually deleted before restore (got created again) and it went off smoothly. I am surprised and happy at simplicity and speed of restore and recovery opterations of MaxDB. A 100GB backup restore on Gigabit - NFS took around 50 minutes !! We are not too worried about the dataloss after 10/24/2006 as it is a ECC IDES system for training. Will check on system dates change. I think during Solution Manager Installation (on MaxDB 7.6), somehow the log files of ECC (on MaxDB 7.5) became corrupted. Now Solution Manager (on MaxDB 7.6) and ECC IDES (on MaxDB 7.5) are running fine on same host.
