You could drop the database without deleting its files (e.g. to keep your backup media) by unchecking "Delete database files." check box. Though you would need to delete the data volumes that are not longer needed manually. In step 3. you should use the "Restore Parameters from a backup" functionality of DBMGUI, if you want the parameters of the new database matching the parameters of your old database. In step 4. use the "Create instance for recovery" option of DBMGUI to avoid the common "Data and Log must be compatible" pitfall.
