Hello Ralf,

Are you sure that the database is still running ("11 ERR 11000 d0_vatta Cannot
open volume, database
Shutdown")? If the database can not open devices, because it run out of
administration structures for devices, there is not much to do anyway then to
restart the database and find a patch dealing with the root cause of the
problem. Unfortunately I can not yet name such a patch. We had some similar
problems, but those caused by canceled backups should have been solved with
7.6.00 Build 0. One bug having pretty similar consequences is
http://www.sapdb.org/webpts?wptsdetail=yes&ErrorType=0&ErrorID=1139459 , but
this was not caused by a cancelled backup.

What about stopping the database and doing a NetWorker Backup on file system
level, just to secure the status quo?

Best regards,
Tilo Heinrich

Subject: RE: Incremental Backup: -104 DBM - DBM command impossible at this time

Hello Tilo,

thank you for the answer.
Yes, there was still a backup from sunday running. We
have problems with our Networker Server. Now, the
backup job is killed.
But there is a new problem, by starting the
incremental backup:
_______________________
11 ERR 11000 find_dev insufficient devices for
ASYNOPEN (tape)
11 ERR 11000 d0_vatta Cannot open volume, database
shutdown
11 ERR 11000 d0_vatta Volume name '/MAXDB03_INC'
22 ERR 52012 SAVE error occured, basis_err 3700
_______________________

In dbm.knl I found this line:
-903|No more devices

I had this error last year, too. After restarting the
Instance the problem was solved.
But I don't want to restart the Instanz now, because I
have no actuell backup. Do you know an alternative
solution?

Regards,
Ralf
