Yes it is the easiest way to test drive Mayan.  Appsembler is a managed 
environment and as all managed environments, most stuff is taken care for 
you (provisioning, deployment, balancing, backups).  But it also means that 
customization is  limited, so changing the interface might not be possible 
at least until the new settings systems is in place, which allows editing 
of deep technical settings from the web interface but is still only about 
40% completed

Still give it a try on Appsembler as it is very easy to deploy and test 
drive to get a feel if Mayan EDMS is the right tool for your needs.
