Hi, Yes, CAD files in particular DXF are of high interest to me. To support any file format on Mayan EDMS two things are needed: 1) Proper MIME type detection, Mayan depends of the libfile library to figure out of which type a certain file is, so if the Linux 'file' command detects the file correctly, Mayan detects the file correctly. 2) A Python library or external program that converts from the native format (DXF, DWG) to a file format that can be used for previews and OCR (PNG, JPG, PPM, PGM, TIFF). Sadly the 'file' command detect DXF files as 'ASCII text files with CRLF line terminators' plus I haven't found any FOSS software to convert these to other formats such PNG or JPG. I'm keeping an eye out for some DXF libraries I saw on Github, but no major development is happening on that front. If you or anyone on the list knows of any FOSS conversion library/binary or detection support for DXF/DWG files let me know to add the support.
