Hi, I'm trying hard to get Mayan EDMS 1.0 to work on my freshly installed ubuntu 14.04 LTS server, but i'm afraid i just don't know enough about django deployment. So far i've followed the installation instructions found in the documentation and got the testing environment running on 127.0.0.1:8000 . I also ran the test server bound to 0.0.0.0:8000 and could reach it from the outside world, but i'd rather want to serve the application through apache2.
That's where your installation instructions simply tell to deploy it like any other django application, and that's where i am totally lost. Sorry, i have no prior experience with django or python, so even though this might all be very clear and simple to you, i just can't wrap my head around it. There are a number of tips in this list which i tried to follow, but none seem to work for me, and they all seem to use different paths so that i can't put those pieces together. Even the very thorough Salem Hospital PDF didn't work out for me, i only end up with apaches "it works" standard page (or an empty indexing page if i remove the standard index.html). Please, can someone write detailed step-by-step instructions for the deployment? Or provide a virtual appliance (like there was for version 0.13) to spy from? I'd really love to use Mayan EDMS, it's the only free dms that has all the features our community needs!
