I would suggest a walk through.

"Have you ever had this problem? Here's how Mayan solves that for you".
Again - in a lot of ways you don't need to sell it to the IT crowd - it's
an open source, django based, document management system. Does what it says
on the tin. You need to sell it to their managers and budget controllers.

Provide the IT crowd that finds your site with a ready made package of "hey
boss, we should use this and here's why!"
