The cache size limit change didn't make the deadline but it is already designed, should land on the next update. To add the per-zone-OCR support I've launched a crowdfunding to raise enough to hire a Javascript developer to work on the frontend side of the problem. If the zone OCR project gets done, it will also pave the way for barcode and QR code recognition.
