My guess is that they are using WebDAV or CMIS, which Mayan would need to support to (it currently doesn't). This has been requested before but there are not good WebDAV or CMIS Python client libraries and we lack the knowledge to implement it from scratch. The best chance is to raise the funds to contract someone to add this. If the current crowdfunding succeeds (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/zone-ocr-support-for-mayan-edms), this can be the next one.
