I think it is actually pretty nice. I don't think we can give an official recommandation on it, because we don't have much insight on its usage and its warts, but people should feel free to use it and report success or failure. All I hope is that things settle down a bit in the Python packaging world, so that we can give good guidelines for users that work accross platforms and that are consistent with what other projects do.
