I'm a bit of a neophyte wrt CPAN, so I'm not sure I understand. Are you talking about lib as in ~root/.cpan/.../Maypole-.../lib or /usr/lib? If the former, why is it any easier to find than ~root/.cpan/.../Maypole-.../templates ? If the latter, then that's about FHS.
