i have no idea what that means, and i am
looking for a host for someone like me
who has no desire to care what it means.

i was using fastcgi.com, but it seems that
it has gone belly-up. (rich, if you hear me,
please e-mail, as i do still want to pay you.)

with fastcgi.com, i just uploaded my app
and it ran. that is the kind of deal i want.
it was also month-to-month payment, with
no long-term commitment, so i'd like that.
i think it was $25/month; that's acceptable.

most of what i do is "proof of concept", so
most months i'll probably have little usage,
if any. but there is always the slight chance
that something goes viral, so a deal where
i pay for the actual resources used will be
quite acceptable. nothing i'd do is crucial,
so a lack of responsiveness would _not_ be
a big problem, as long as it wasn't ongoing.

and it'd just be for realsoftware web-apps.
otherwise i am using dreamhost.com, with
no desire to move my 37 websites anywhere.
i hate moving. :+)
