IPC. I've had throughputs up to 200 MB/sec. For larger datasets (mine may range into the GBs), duplicating is inefficient, and slow even via IPC, so I use shared memory (MBS plugin) and simply send the shared memory segment name and the appropriate offset, to my slave via IPC. Works very well.
