And this is said in the interface guidelines also. What I find hard is knowing what guidelines are for which OS version. In this case, the guidelines say there should be a File, Edit and View menu (unless one is not applicable) and the View menu should include a “Show/Hide toolbar” menu item. However, did this also apply to Mac OS 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6? If no, we're sure apps were forced to use another method and the toolbar button isn't available. If yes, then we could speculate the API to show the toolbar button has changed, or appears elsewhere. Having an Interface guidelines that is “only up to date” doesn't help for making apps for multiple OS versions.
