I'm not sure what you mean as far as using QTPlayer to record (in Windows). I 
have a QuickTime Pro 7.7.2 license but am not aware of any recording 
capability. When running in windows, the QTGrabber.StartRecord method gives a 
-43 error which I can't seem to find any mention of in the documentation.

I agree, that would be better, but I was hoping to keep a single source code 
stack across platforms with only minor platform checking. That might prove 
impossible.
