Very general question: I've spent much of the last month working on a program to grab video (animal behavior) and analyze frames on the fly.
I've used the MBS Quicktime plugin and I'm principally targeting Mac OS (non-cocoa). I'm looking for an overview of the differences between quicktime and QTkit; the rate of deprecation of quicktime functions; the scope of each plug in; and the advantages and disadvantages of each. I know this is a broad and general question, but I'm likely to begin a transition to QTkit, and would like to understand it better.
