Thanks, but I don't see how this resolves the problem. Ok, I can get the volume name, but it's possible I have 2 disks named “Macintosh HD”, for example. Once one gets mounted, I'd compare the MacAlias data, but if the disks aren't mounted in the same order (than when my prefs were saved), even if I have the name from MacAliasMBS, I won't be sure it's the expected (stored) Macintosh HD (and the info strings would also be different since the MacVRefNum would be different).
