Ok, but what is the original group when no one is defined? I mean, before I set 
WindowGroupMBS to wg, the document is a plain window, with no group; what's the 
original group then?

You're suggesting that I define a second group for normal level instead of 
setting the group to nil, correct?
I ask because, if the simple fact of defining any window group to a window 
makes the crash, I'm assuming even a “normal level” group (as opposed to “nil”) 
would make the crash. I've yet to test…
