Christian,

As I mentioned yesterday, I would like to consider transitioning from the
QuickTime Grabber classes to QTKit in my astronomical camera control software.
I realize that QTKit is Mac OS X only, but now that my DirectShow version is
working reliably (the lack of AMCrossbar control is still a minor issue) I feel
that it would be perfectly acceptable to drop QT support in Windows.

Other than the fact that QTKit is a more modern framework, is there some other
compelling reason to make the switch? I've been mostly successful at getting
the QTGrabber class working in Cocoa, but because of various other RS quirks
the Mac app is currently being distributed as Carbon.

In your opinion is it better to make the transition to QTKit and Cocoa
simultaneously, or is there some reason to first attempt one before the other.
I figured that I would post the question to the list in the hopes that others
doing similar development might be able to chime in as well.

Cheers.
