Christian, I saw you pinging the PortAudio mailing list - are you going to make this new "snapshot" part of MBS?
And probably the more pertinent question, do you find compiling in PortAudio straightforward or does it give you fits (or somewhere in between)? It looks like these guys know what they are doing, but I dunno. I've been using your Port[x] classes for a long time and I'm pretty satisfied. The biggest problems occur on Windows but I suspect in most every instance it's a result of the poor way Windows deals with sound drivers - conflicts related to exclusive access, etc. The other is the latency introduced by REAL's slow event loop on Windows, but that's not MBS related.
