Many of my apps use MidiEndpointMBS to create virtual MIDI ports on Mac. It
works for sending and receiving MIDI data, but there is a problem. The ports
gets recognized by other applications, but those applications think the virtual
ports are new and different every time — they don’t see the same port from one
use of my application (one session) to another.

I mean, from one session to another, rebooting my software, the other software
doesn’t see that it’s *the same* virtual MIDI port, even though I give it the
same name every time. The result is, in other software, my virtual ports can
never be selected automatically; the user always has to go in and manually
choose the port. Also, the other software may develop a huge list possible
connections, all of the same name, of my virtual port, and the user doesn’t
know which one to select, because they all have the same name, and only one of
them is active.

I don’t know what I need to do in order to make these ports persistent from one
session to another. Does anyone know what needs to be done to make it work
properly?

Thanks!
Aaron
